40 meetings in 17 regions: the National Police commented on the situation with “Redan” PVC
Police officers warned of 40 possible meetings of participants of the new subculture “Redan PVC” in 17 regions of Ukraine. The head of the Juvenile Prevention Department of the National Police, Yaroslav Shanko, told about the control over the situation at the briefing. “The artificial development of the Redan PVC subculture is an attempt by Russian propagandists to conduct another information campaign – a psychological operation and use children to destabilize the situation in Ukraine,” the police chief notes. Russians call the “Redans” a “psychological operation of Ukraine, which rejoices in fights in Russian malls.” The first news about a new youth movement that was supposed to provoke conflicts and mass fights , came to the police at the end of February. Law enforcement officers from cyber police units were involved in the inspection police, juvenile police, precinct police. “It was established that in social networks and newly created telegram channels, administrators spread information and provoke young people to mass gatherings and physical confrontations with each other in order to deliberately involve children in illegal activities,” Shanko said. In Ukraine, not a single skirmish with the participation of “redans” has been recorded. More than 2,500 policemen were involved in the work for that purpose. More than a thousand people were brought to police departments and territorial offices. Most of them are minors. On the spot, they and their parents were explained about the responsibility for violating public order. The head of the juvenile police notes that the vast majority of Ukrainian teenagers join these groups rather out of curiosity, and become administrators of Telegram channels for the sake of earning. Shanko added that the law enforcement officers have already blocked and installed the administrators of 45 channels. We will remind, the appearance of the subculture is associated with the Japanese anime series “Hunter x Hunter”. It has a gangster group called “Genei Ryodan”, whose symbol was a spider and the number 4. In the channels, administrators call for “revenge for every informal”, thus provoking mass fights.
