In the Lviv region, a 13-year-old schoolgirl gave birth to a child by a 15-year-old boy. Currently, criminal proceedings have been opened against the young man – he is suspected of raping a minor. This is stated in the case in the Unified Register of Court Decisions. On May 4, the Horodotsky District Court in the Lviv region received a request from the prosecutor’s office to choose a preventive measure for an underage boy who is suspected of raping a girl under 14 years old. Sexual relations between them were by mutual consent. The minor became pregnant last summer, the couple had a child in the spring, and then, according to the publication, they officially got married. However, the information about the marriage of minors was not confirmed by the press service of the National Police of Lviv Oblast “UP. Life”. The court documents also state that the boy is not married. Life”. She also noted that the pre-trial investigation is ongoing (Article 152 of the Criminal Code). On April 28, the new father was suspected by law enforcement officers of a particularly serious crime – the rape of a minor. The court released the boy on personal recognizance, choosing a preventive measure for sixty days – until July 2, 2023 inclusive. During the specified period, the young person must come to the investigator, prosecutor and/or court upon request, as well as report a change of residence. If found guilty, the boy faces 10 to 15 years in prison. We remind you that in Ukraine, only persons of marriageable age can officially marry: men – 18, women – 17. However, in some circumstances, a marriage license can be obtained earlier by a court decision. In particular, it is possible at the age of 16, if it is in the interests of the person.
