A Moscow court arrested a business school teacher in connection with a terrorist attack

The Basmanny Court of Moscow sent Eldar Marchenko, a teacher of the RMA business school, to pre-trial detention center. A criminal case has been initiated against him. The plot of the case is unknown, the meeting to determine the restraining order was held in closed session. According to Sota, Marchenko is accused of collaborating with Ukrainian special services. The accused previously reported on torture by FSB officers.

The arrest of Marchenko was reported in particular by the correspondents of “Ostrozhno, novosti” and Sota. As noted by “Mediazona”, an article appeared in the filing cabinet accusing Marchenko of committing a terrorist act by a group of persons that caused significant property damage.

Eldar Marchenko is the ex-husband of journalist Maria Lekuh. As Sota writes, Marchenko was detained on August 1, his house was searched. Then, as it is said, the FSB officers questioned him with electricity until he signed the “acknowledgment of fulfilling the tasks of the Ukrainian special services.” At that time, however, the criminal case was not reported. Moscow courts three times sent Marchenko under administrative arrest on the charge of petty hooliganism – allegedly he cursed in public. The day before, he was again detained at the exit from the Sakharovo special reception and this time taken to the Investigative Committee.

Eldar Marchenko teaches sports management at the RMA business school. As noted by OVD-Info, in 2022 he wrote several columns for the “That’s How” publication, but now they are not publicly available.
