A resident of Irkutsk was given a suspended sentence in the case of fakes for the word “murderers”

A resident of Irkutsk, Kamelia Slysh, was sentenced to one and a half years of conditional imprisonment in the case of the so-called fakes about the army. In addition to the conditional term, Slysh was also given a two-year probationary term, the press service of the Sverdlovsk District Court of Irkutsk reports.

In January, police officers from Center “E” searched Slysh and her family. In February, she learned that a criminal case had been opened against her for “fakes”, and she faced up to five years in prison. The grounds for initiating a criminal case were her dedicated war in Ukraine, posts and reposts on networks in March-May 2022.

One of the posts that formed the basis of the criminal case was a screenshot from a telegram, which shows people in camouflage shooting people with their hands tied behind their backs. “That’s what I meant by what I wrote: people who shoot other unarmed people are murderers,” Slysh told the correspondent of Sibir.Realii.

Apparently, it was about the murder of residents of the Ukrainian city of Bucha. The Russian authorities call any reports that the Russian military killed them fake. In connection with the expression of an opinion about the events in Buche, which differ from the official Russian position, several people in Russia were sentenced to real terms under the article about “fakes”.

The article “Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the armed forces of the Russian Federation” was included in the Criminal Code in March 2022 – this is how the authorities reacted to anti-war speeches and statements, as well as the dissemination of information about the war that does not come from official Russian sources.
