45-year-old teacher Ludmila Greben, who was tried for the death of a sixth-grader on an excursion, was released from criminal responsibility. The Skoliv District Court released the woman on bail to the staff of the Lviv General Education School of Grades I-III No. 82 under several conditions. “The court approved the petition of the labor team of the Lviv comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 82 of the Lviv City Council of the Lviv region – to satisfy. (The teacher) to be released from criminal liability … in connection with her transfer to the bail of the labor team of the Lviv comprehensive school of grades I-III no. 82 of the Lviv City Council of the Lviv region for a period of 1 year,” the decision reads. Within 1 year from the date of Lyudmila Greben’s bail, the teacher must justify the trust of the work team, not evade educational measures and not violate public order. If the woman violates the terms of bail, she will be held criminally liable. The boy got too close to the water, and after falling into the waterfall, he suffered a life-threatening injury. Lyudmila Greben was the class teacher of the schoolboy and accompanied the children on the excursion on June 2, 2021. After the tragedy, the woman suffered a heart attack, and criminal proceedings were opened against her. According to Article 137 of the Criminal Code, the teacher was threatened with restriction or deprivation of liberty from 3 to 5 years. In the end, Ludmila Hreben was released on bail – the court’s decision has already entered into force.
