Admission-2023: in Ukraine, the rules for admission to universities for future bachelors and masters have been approved

This year’s entrants will be required to take a national multi-subject test for undergraduate admission. For admission to a master’s degree, you will need a single professional entrance test (SPE), as well as a single entrance exam (EVI) – the master’s complex test. The procedure for admission to universities was approved by the Ministry of Education and Science. The Center for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education explained the main criteria for the selection of applicants and reminded what the tasks and the term of the testing will be. Bachelor’s degree During admission to the first year of bachelor’s degree (or master’s degree – in medical and veterinary specialties), the results of NMT will be taken into account. NMT is a computer online test that will contain two blocks of tasks: the main one; additional. Future students can choose one of the following subjects as a third subject: history of Ukraine; foreign language (English, Spanish, German or French); biology; physics; chemistry. As explained by the UTSOYAO, after completing all NMT tasks in the temporary examination center (TEC), the participant will see information on the number of test points he received on his computer monitor. The results of each subject will be used for competitive selection, and they will be converted into a scale of 100–200 points. “The number of test points received by the participants for completing tasks from a separate subject of NMT will be transferred to a scale of 100-200 points, provided that at least 10% of the total number of test points is scored from this subject,” the UTSOYAO added. As reported by UTSOYAO, for admission, in addition to the results of the 2023 NMT, it will be possible to use the results of the 2020-2021 ZNO and last year’s NMT. Master’s Degree Entrants must complete the EFVV. Educators explain that this is a form of entrance exam for obtaining the opportunity to obtain a master’s degree. It involves assessing the level of preparation of the entrant in the profession. Also, future entrants to the master’s degree will take a single entrance exam. It combines a test of general academic competence and a test of a foreign language (English, German, French or Spanish at the entrant’s choice). In 2023, entrants to the specialty of several fields of knowledge will need EVI and EFVV: 05 “Social and behavioral sciences”; 07 “Management and administration”; 08 “Law”; 28 “Public management and administration”; 29 “International relations”. EVI and EFVV this year or EVI and a professional exam will also need to be taken for admission to specialty 061 “Journalism”. The results of each block, translated into a scale of 100–200 points, will also be used for the competitive selection for the master’s degree. Registration of applications for participation in EVI and EFVV is carried out within the terms established by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Testing will take place in the form of online computer tests. It will be possible to pass them only in special CHPs (as well as NMT), created in populated areas of Ukraine and abroad. The corresponding list and schedule of the entrance exams for the master’s degree will be published later on the website of the UTSOYAO. We will remind you that future students who plan to take the NMT this year can already take a trial version of the biology test.
