On Monday night, Russia launched another massive attack on the territory of Ukraine. Cruise missiles and attack drones were used.
On the night of May 29, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 40 Russian drones and cruise missiles in the sky over Kyiv, said the head of the Ukrainian capital’s military administration, Serhiy Popko. According to him, since the beginning of May, Kyiv has been attacked for the 15th time.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klychko wrote in a telegram that on Monday night, fragments of rockets fell in the Svyatoshynsky and Podolsky districts of the city. There were no casualties or injuries. Infrastructure objects are not damaged.
In Odessa, a fire broke out in the port after the wreckage of the drone fell. It was possible to quickly liquidate the ego.
An attack by drones in the Nikolaev region is reported. The explosions took place in Vinnytsia, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Lviv regions.
In the Khmelnytsky region – according to local authorities – a military object was damaged as a result of the attack. Judging by the message, we are talking about an airfield or an Air Force base. As stated in the message, five aircraft were disabled, a fire broke out at the warehouse of fuel and lubricants, and the runway was damaged.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a total of 37 cruise missiles, 29 drones and one reconnaissance drone were destroyed last night.
On Sunday, during a telethon, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that Ukraine plans to strengthen its air defense system by winter. According to the minister, in this way, not only large cities, but also the entire Ukrainian sky will be safe.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia has not yet commented on reports of shelling of Ukrainian territories.
