Case for 370 million: The managers of Poltava GZK Zhevago will be tried

Employees of the State Security Bureau sent an indictment to the court against seven officials and employees of PrJSC “Poltava Mining and Processing Plant”. The company’s management is suspected of embezzling tens of millions of hryvnias.

About this informs press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

As stated in the message, the management of the combine during 2019-2021 illegally disposed of minerals of national importance.

“Without a special permit for the use of subsoil, it illegally sold tons of mineral raw materials worth almost UAH 80 million,” the SBI said.

Then, according to law enforcement officers, through the enterprises involved in the scheme, they resold the same raw materials, but at a much higher price. In particular, the top management sold crushed stone raw materials, which were made from waste mined in mineral mines, without appropriate permits.

“The amount of the equipment amounted to more than UAH 370 million,” – according to the SBI.

“Poltava mining and beneficiation plant” is part of the Ferrexpo group, owned by Kostyantyn Zhevago.

We will remind:

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HCAC) on September 6 rejected an appeal against the decision of the investigating judge of the State Criminal Court of Ukraine dated July 10 about the arrest in absentia of businessman Kostyantyn Zhevago in the case of suspicion of providing an illegal benefit to the chairman and judges of the Supreme Court.
