34-year-old Serhiy, originally from the city of Myrnograd, Donetsk region, worked in a mine before the full-scale war, having 14 years of underground experience. After February 24, 2022, the man joined the 109th separate territorial defense brigade in the Donetsk region. The soldier repulsed the enemy together with his comrades until he was wounded at positions near the village of Pisky, the Ministry of Health says. According to Serhiy, it was a difficult battle. The 36th Marine Brigade lost its positions. However, the defenders had to return the territory. “The first contact began when they were hit with a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher. The fighters were immediately covered, a melee with small arms began. One of Serhiy’s brothers died immediately on the spot, the limbs of the second were torn off, and he could no longer see the third.
