Late on Tuesday evening, it became known that the Bureau of the Moscow City Committee of the CPRF decided to expel Yevgeny Stupin from the party for his anti-war writing, positive description of Ilya Yashin and voting against the report of Sergei Sobyanin in the Moscow City Duma in 2022.

Evgeny Stupin wrote on his Facebook page:

“Just that the Bureau of the Moscow City Committee of the CPRF made a decision on my expulsion from the party. Even the first deputy of GA Zyuganov – Yu.V. Afonin came to the meeting and actively lobbied for my expulsion.

Three reasons were named:
– my signature on February 24, 2022 of the letter “Socialists and Communists Against War”;

– provision of positive characteristics in the criminal case to Ilya Yashin, who is in prison;

– voting against the report of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in the Moscow City Duma in 2022.

Stupin notes that Nikolay Zubrilyn, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and Valery Rashkin, adviser to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, voted for his exclusion. Only the head of the CPRF faction in the Moscow City Duma, Tatyana Desyatova, and the deputy head of the CPRF faction, Pavel Tarasov, were against it.

As “Kommersant” writes, referring to its source, deputy Stupin has not yet been expelled from the CPRF faction in the Moscow Duma.

Yevgeny Stupin announced his intention to record a separate video in which he will talk about the course of the two-hour discussion and the consequences of his expulsion from the party.
