Due to his health, Kara-Murza could not take part in the court session

The health condition of opposition politician and journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza in the Moscow pre-trial detention center has significantly deteriorated. This is confirmed by his lawyer Vadim Prokhorov.

As the lawyer wrote on Facebook, the session of the Moscow City Court, which is considering the case of Kara-Murza on charges of spreading so-called fakes about the army, did not take place on Thursday. They could not bring him to the courthouse from the pre-trial detention center because of his deteriorating health. At the hearing, the judge read a certificate from the infirmary of the “Vodnyk” pre-trial detention center stating that Kara-Murza cannot take part in judicial investigations until the end of the course of treatment.

“There are obvious problems with Vladimir’s health – because even the doctors of the Russian penitentiary system began to show concern,” Prokhorov notes. According to him, the lawyers will seek his early examination in a civil hospital and the completion of a course of treatment, as well as raise the question of changing the measure of restraint.

At the same time, the next session of the Moscow City Court in the case of Kara-Murza is scheduled for Monday, March 20.
