During the year, there were 8% fewer specialists in the largest Ukrainian IT companies

In the 50 largest Ukrainian IT companies, the number of specialists decreased by almost 8,000 people, or 7.6% compared to January last year.

This is stated in material D.O.U.

The reduction, which began after the start of the full-scale war, continued in the second half of 2022 – during this time, the number of employees in the 50 largest IT companies of Ukraine decreased by 5.3%, or 5,200 specialists.

Currently, the 50 largest IT companies of Ukraine employ 92,400 people, compared to 100,000 in January 2022. That is, the number of specialists decreased by 7.6% over the year.

As the companies explain, this reduction, with some exceptions, does not mean a decrease in the number of specialists in them. IT specialists moved abroad to work in other offices of their companies, are legalized there and therefore stop paying taxes to Ukraine.

At the same time, if in the first half of 2022 the number of technical specialists remained at the same level, then in the second there is a clear negative trend: minus 4,600 specialists. Apparently, companies began to actively legalize technical specialists abroad.
