In Great Britain, tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest were sold out in 1 hour and 42 minutes.

This is stated on the ticket sales site Ticketmaster.

Fans could purchase tickets for the grand final and two semi-finals live, as well as six dress rehearsals. Ticket sales started on March 7 at 12 noon.

The price of tickets for the semi-finals ranged from 90 to 290 pounds (from 4 to 12.8 thousand hryvnias), and for the final – from 160 to 380 pounds (from 7 to 17.8 thousand hryvnias).

Due to the large number of applicants, the ticket site even stopped working for a while. When the service was restored, users were placed in a waiting queue. But there were far more people who wanted to get to the semifinals of the competition than the number of tickets.

The British government also announced 3,000 free tickets for Ukrainians.

They can be obtained by citizens who are in Great Britain under the following programs:

  • Homes for Ukraine;
  • Ukraine Family Scheme;
  • Ukraine Extension Scheme.

The British Government also allocated 10 million pounds to help organize the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine and showcase its culture and creativity.

As a reminder, Eurovision will be held in Liverpool in May 2023. Despite the fact that the representative of Ukraine – the Kalush Orchestra band – won at last year’s festival, the song contest will not be able to be held in our country due to the war.

Great Britain, which took second place at Eurovision 2022, agreed to host the event.

Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine means that the contest cannot be held where it should be. But we are honored to support the BBC and Liverpool in hosting this event on their behalf, and we intend to make sure that the Ukrainian people are at the center of this event“, – emphasized the Minister of Culture of Great Britain, Lucy Fraser.
