A fire and explosion in a warehouse building on the territory of the FSB border service in Rostov-on-Don occurred last Thursday, March 16. Residential houses located in the neighborhood were evacuated.

The mass media reported that the fire was preceded by the sound of an explosion. The governor of the Rostov region, Vasyl Golubev, said that the explosion was not the cause, but a consequence of the fire. According to him, the fire in the warehouse was caused by a circuit breaker. “The spreading fire caused the explosion of tanks with combustible and lubricating materials,” Golubev wrote in the Telegram channel.

According to the FSB, combustible and lubricating materials caught fire in the repair workshop of the garage box, which caused an explosion and partial destruction of the structure.

The Rostov region borders the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, where active hostilities are taking place.
