From October, a system of electronic solutions for medical cannabis will be operational in Ukraine, which will allow tracing the path of medical cannabis from seed to medicinal form.
About this reported Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko during the eHealth Summit.
“When we talk about the system of electronic solutions for medical cannabis, it is about the availability for patients of those medicines that they desperately need for oncology, for mental health disorders, etc.
Everyone knows that there is a stigma around drugs that are innovative, that are just coming. It was because of this stigma that several legislative decisions were written – revolutionary, but quite complex.
From October, we will have a system that will show full traceability from the seed (medical hemp – ed.) to the medicinal product, to the medicinal form of medical cannabis.” – said Lyashko.
Electronic prescriptions, in turn, will allow tracking the movement of cannabis-based medicines from the doctor’s appointment to the pharmacy’s release.
“We have visited a large number of countries in Europe and the world – no one has such a system that will function in Ukraine”, – added the Minister of Health.
Lyashko also announced other innovations in the field of electronic solutions that will be operational in the next 3-6 months. In particular, it is about:
- electronic referral for obtaining rehabilitation aids;
- electronic medical records of inpatient medical care, laboratory test results;
- electronic medical reports of medical examinations for families who want to adopt a child;
- electronic medical reports for obtaining a driver’s license;
- electronic solutions for medicinal products – new e-Stock models that will allow tracing the path of each medicinal product from purchase to distribution;
- electronic queue for endoprosthesis;
- rating distribution in internship;
- system of notification of information about cosmetic products;
- register of food additives;
- new state register of medicines;
- public health information system;
- a new register of licenses for medical practice;
- the patient’s electronic office, available both in the medical information system and in “Dia”.
