Germany will allocate an additional 12 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine

The Budget Committee of the Bundestag on Wednesday approved the request of the German Federal Ministries of Defense and Interior to allocate an additional 12 billion euros for military support to Ukraine.
This is reported by “European Truth” with reference to Reuters.
Additional financing includes €3.2 billion to be disbursed in 2023 and credit lines for the period from 2024 to 2032 amounting to around €8.8 billion.
“Thanks to this money, Ukraine will be able to directly purchase weapons with the support of the German government. It is important to support Ukraine as much as it will be needed,” said the statement of representatives of the coalition government of Germany in the budget committee of the Bundestag.
As reported, the German army will be able to start spending this money already this year, part of the funds will be allocated for the following years. It is not known exactly how and for what period of time these 12 billion euros will be distributed.
According to the German Foreign Ministry, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the German government has allocated more than 14.2 billion euros to support Ukraine, including 3 billion euros for military aid to Kyiv.
As you know, the tanks promised by the government in Berlin this week Leopard 2 has already arrived in Ukraine. Germany too transferred to Ukraine the previously promised about 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles.
