Growth of the minimum wage. The Ministry of Economy proposes to increase it by 14% in 2024
The Ministry of Economy proposed to raise the minimum wage in 2024 by 14% to UAH 7,651, compared to the current UAH 6,700. This was reported by the Federation of Trade Unions, referring to the first meeting of the joint working commission on the preparation of proposals for establishing the size of the minimum wage.

What does the Ministry of Economy offer
According to trade unions, Deputy Minister Tatyana Berezhnaya announced the proposals of the Ministry of Economy for 2024, submitted to the Ministry of Finance:
- the amount of the minimum salary — 7,651 UAH (currently — 6,700 UAH);
- the size of the official salary of an employee of the 1st tariff category of the unified tariff grid — 3443 UAH (now — 2893 UAH).
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the actual amount of the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons in April 2023 prices amounted to UAH 7,782.
