Over the past three years, 440,000 services have been provided to Ukrainian cancer patients under the Medical Guarantee Program. The National Health Service of Ukraine informed “Ukrainian Pravda. The total amount paid by the National Health Service for services provided in the field of diagnosis and treatment of cancer, as of 2020, is almost 16 billion hryvnias. “The program of medical guarantees for patients with a suspected or established oncological diagnosis has passed its three-year milestone. The National Health Service began contracting for specialized and highly specialized medical care back in 2020. In 2020, 21 received radiological treatment, 3,000 patients, in 2021 – 33,200, in 2022 – 29,400. This year, NSHU planned to finance oncology packages for over 6.55 billion UAH, of which 525 million is intended for diagnosis and early detection of cancer. So far, 2.2 billion hryvnias have been spent, for which services were provided to 65,000 patients. The National Cancer Institute received the most funds from the National Cancer Institute in 2023. Since the beginning of the year, more than UAH 130 million has been deposited into the accounts of the medical institution. The NSHU emphasizes that they are trying to inform citizens as much as possible about the Medical Guarantee Program. “First of all, information can be obtained on the website of the National Health Service of Ukraine, our official pages in social networks. In addition, patients can find out about services under the Medical Guarantee Program directly at the places where they are provided. Information and consultations can be obtained by calling our short number 1677,” says Nataliya Husak . It is stated in the procurement contracts for packages of medical services that the medical facility must necessarily inform patients about the possibility of obtaining the necessary services free of charge. “We send informational materials to medical institutions, which must be placed in the entrance area of ​​the premises. Also, the medical institution can print such informational materials at its own expense and place them in the premises, because this is a mandatory condition of the contract with the NSSU,” says Nataliya Husak.
