How to get a 2024 study grant through Diya

This year, for the first time, students who entered higher education institutions on a contract basis can receive a state one study grant. It will cover a certain percentage of the contract price, the size of the basic grants – 15 and 25 thousand hryvnias.

Previously in the Ministry of Education and Science toldthat in order to receive a grant, one must submit an application through the electronic office of the entrant to the EDEBO and open a separate bank account from September 5. Now the terms and algorithm of actions have changed.

How to apply for a grant, when it will be possible to get confirmation and how to use the money – we will tell you further.

Who can apply for a grant?

Study grant can get students who entered educational institutions on a contract basis based on the results of the NMT. Those who passed the test with more than 150 points can count on a first-level grant, and those who received 170 points or more on the exam can count on a second-level grant.

The state program can be used both by entrants to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in medical, veterinary or pharmaceutical fields.

The condition is that the form of study must be full-time or dual, so part-time students and evening students cannot count on the grant.

A guaranteed grant will be given to those who:

• meets the criteria mentioned above;
• has already entered into a payment agreement with a state, municipal or private educational institution which participates in the project;
• has already started studying at the university.

In MES recommended entrants to let the university know about the grant at the time of signing the contract. This should allow them not to pay the full tuition fee immediately.

How and when to apply for a grant: action algorithm

If the entrant has fulfilled all the conditions, then will receive a notification in the Action application about who can receive a grant. To use it, you need:

✅update Action;

✅ log in to the application;

✅ find the Training Certificate in the “Documents” section;

✅ click on the three dots on the certificate card and select “Get a grant”;

✅ activate the grant using Action.Signature.

This must be done by November 5, otherwise the grant will disappear. The entrant can activate it himself – without the participation of parents or legal representatives.

The Ministry of Education and Culture will independently transfer funds to the account of the educational institution. Money will be paid to the university in two installments. The first – until December 1, 2024, and the second – until April 1, 2025. After ZVO receives part of the grant, the student will be able to find out about it through a notification in Diya.
