In 2022, the average level of vaccine coverage of children aged 1 year in Ukraine fell by 10% compared to 2021. This is reported in the Ministry of Health. According to the results of last year, the level of vaccination coverage in Ukraine remains lower than recommended by the World Health Organization. During 2022, one-year-old children were vaccinated at the level of: 74.1% – against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); 72.9% – against diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus; 62.4% – against hepatitis B; 71% – against tuberculosis; 68.9% – against poliomyelitis; 69.8% – against hemophilic infection. Photo: Wavebreakmedia/Depositphotos However, according to the Ministry of Health, the level of vaccination in January 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 is higher on average by 1.5%. “Remains of vaccines that were received in 2022 and the guaranteed arrival of vaccines in 2023 will allow routine vaccination not to be interrupted and will ensure the necessary coverage of the needs of Ukrainians in mandatory vaccinations,” the agency added.
