Doctors of the Cherkasy Regional Hospital found 6 wrenches in the patient’s body. It is not known how the tools ended up inside the man.
As noted in the department of thoracic surgery, an interesting case happened in August.
The patient, whose name has not been released, hospitalized with the following problems:
- Phlegmon of the neck is a severe inflammatory disease characterized by suppuration and requires surgical intervention;
- rupture of the esophagus at the level of the pharynx and the middle third;
- total mediastinitis – an inflammatory process in the tissue of the mediastinum (space in the chest cavity);
- empyema of the pleura on the right side – purulent inflammation of the connective tissue covering the lungs and the inner surface of the chest;
- foreign bodies;
- lowering of the stomach.
“The doctors of the department simultaneously performed a left-sided cervicotomy, a right-sided thoracotomy with a mediastinotomy, an upper-middle laparotomy, and a gastrotomy with the application of a gastrostomy.” – they say department doctors.
The patient was in the hospital for three weeks. He has already been discharged home.
In the comment “Society” Zoya Vovk, spokeswoman for the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region, noted that the case is not criminal. The police did not register any appeals in this regard.
