In March, liquidated banks sent more than 1 billion to repay the claims of their creditors

In March 2023, banks liquidated by the Deposit Guarantee Fund sent UAH 1,081.8 million to repay the claims of their creditors. This was reported by the press service of the Individual Investment Guarantee Fund.

Of the indicated amount, in particular, almost UAH 55 million was directed to satisfy the requirements of the 3rd stage, which arose, including to cover the expenses of the Fund for the payment of guaranteed compensation to depositors, 52.5 million UAH — of the 4th stage (individuals over guaranteed amount), UAH 974.3 million — the 7th tier (legal entities that are not connected with banks).

For January-March 2023, the amount of repayment of claims of creditors of banks in liquidation amounted to UAH 1,763.5 million, including UAH 150,000. UAH — extraordinary satisfaction of the requirements of the NBU as a secured creditor.

In general, for the entire period as of April 1, 2023, the claims of creditors of insolvent banks were satisfied for the total amount of UAH 61,617.2 million, of which UAH 17,027.0 million was repaid to secured creditors, including UAH 15,746.3 million — NBU (including at the expense of requisitioning collateral and property of guarantors).

As of April 1, 2023, the Fund, in accordance with Art. 52 of the Law of Ukraine “On the system of guaranteeing deposits of physical persons”, 80 claims were filed against 51 banks. The total number of respondents who are related parties of these banks is 938 people. The total amount of claims amounts to UAH 144,949.8 million. The total amount of the Fund’s claims, satisfied according to the legally binding court decisions, amounts to more than UAH 435 million.
