In Omsk, a soldier who killed an 18-year-old pregnant woman was sentenced to 19 years
The Omsk Regional Court found a participant in the war in Ukraine, Sergei Kozlov, guilty of murdering a pregnant woman with special cruelty. The former soldier was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony. This was reported by the press service of the court.
According to the investigation, in October 2023, 18-year-old Daria and her father came to the house of her co-habitant, 36-year-old Sergey Kozlov. During the feast, he quarreled with her because she allegedly broke his speaker. Kozlov began to beat the victim on the head with a column until her body split. Then he jumped on the stomach of his partner and shouted that she was not worthy to be the mother of his child. In total, experts counted 138 injuries on the victim’s body, including: a ruptured liver, a brain injury, and an abdominal injury.
The victim’s father and other guests were present in the house – Kozlov also beat them.
Kozlov participated in the war against Ukraine as part of the Wagner PMC, was awarded the “For Courage” medal, and returned home in the summer of 2023. He was recruited into the PMC from the colony where he was sentenced by the Pervomai District Court of Omsk. In 2021, Kozlov was found guilty of causing grievous and minor harm to health for hitting a resident of Omsk with an ax and also beating her young daughter. For this, he was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. Earlier, he was also tried for theft, robbery and beating his co-habitant with a hammer.
- Reports of serious crimes, including murder and rape, committed by returnees from the war against Ukraine regularly appear in the mass media. Hundreds of such cases are already known. The resonance caused by them forced the Kremlin to recommend controlled journalists not to tell about such incidents.
