The animal was sitting near our fence. I was in the yard, not far away. My husband did not see me and shot the cat,” – Yuliya Tatyanenko, the owner of the dead animal, said. The woman immediately ran to the cat, which was still alive at that time. According to her, she took Hrynia to the central hospital. There, the animal was put on drips and advised to go to another clinic the next day. “The next day, he was taken to another veterinarian. There, the cat underwent a blood test, an X-ray, a dropper was put on, and an anesthetic was injected. This doctor also confirmed that Hrynia may simply not survive the operation,” adds Yulia. X-ray showed that in the lumbar vertebra of the animal there is a metal object, similar to a ball, about 6-8 mm in size. The conclusion of the chief doctor of the Second Veterinary Clinic of Rivne states that the cat was taken to the doctors in serious condition. The animal had a wound visually similar to a stab or gunshot wound. X-ray of an injured cat. Instead, the cat was given medical treatment. According to the owner of the cat, the animal died on February 14 at home. The animal abuser was never called to the police station for questioning. Yuliya said that after she contacted the police and filed a complaint against the cat abuser, she was never called to the police station. She went there on her own initiative to find out about the progress of the case. When she went to the police again to find out how the investigation was progressing, she was again interviewed and asked to re-show the vet’s certificate, print out the blood test and the x-ray. The woman brought everything she needed, but she was told that the investigator was on sick leave. The victim began to demand a replacement or a meeting with management, but she was advised to go home and come back later. Then she received a call from the police station and was told that they would not be able to meet her. “When I contacted the law enforcement officers again, they emphasized that the case was being considered, and the cat killer was never called in for questioning,” the woman adds. According to her, the situation was repeated on March 10. The law enforcement officers learned about the killing of the animal from social networks. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Rivne region, “UP Life” was informed that the case was opened based on the results of monitoring social networks. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Part 1 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. “The cat was still alive, but the woman did not go to the vet.
