In Rostov, the father of the missing student was fired from the police for criticism
In Rostov-on-Don, police officer Mykola Tsomartov was dismissed from the force due to criticism of the investigation into the disappearance of his daughter Anna Tsomartova. He was accused of “negative statements” about the work of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “7×7” and “Komsomolskaya Pravda” reported that the reason was posts in the Telegram channel devoted to the search for his daughter.
Tsomartova was accused of violating the laws “On the police” and “On service in the authorities of the Russian Federation”. He plans to challenge the dismissal in court, reports “AiF-Rostov”.
Anna Tsomartova went missing on February 10 of this year in Dagestan after losing in the semifinals of a Thai boxing competition. The girl’s mother reported that her daughter was last seen on the guarded territory of the FSB sanatorium in Kaspiysk, however, the special services did not provide video footage from their own cameras on the territory of the facility.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed the employees of the central apparatus of the department to find out how the investigation of the case of missing persons is progressing. Tsomartova’s mother complained about the inaction of the police and reported harassment by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. She wrote that employees of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Republic of Dagestan “actively spread lies” about her daughter’s suicide, interfering with the preliminary investigation.
- One of the witnesses filmed the athlete on video while she was walking along the seashore. According to the source, the girl allegedly reached the observation deck along the edge of the water, sometimes going up to her knees in it – it is not known what happened to her after that.
- In April, the Investigative Committee of Dagestan reported on the investigation of the criminal case of murder, which was opened after the death of Tsomartova. 180 people were interrogated, 46 inspections of objects and documents were conducted, including recordings from 34 video cameras, the department said. Dagestan investigators have not found any traces of the missing athlete in four months.
- At the end of February, Tsomartova’s parents appealed to President Vladimir Putin, demanding an objective investigation into her disappearance. Nothing is known about the reaction to the appeal.
