In Tambov, a rock concert was canceled due to the denunciation of “Russian Community”
In Tambov, the concert of three rock groups was canceled at the request of the “Russian Community” religious movement. It was supposed to take place on September 21, but the day before the concert, the musicians announced that the concert would not take place. Religious activists have accused the rockers of blasphemy and Satanism, Tambov media reports.
Three heavy rock bands – Lucifer’s Dungeon, Frostlagte Måne and Mor – were supposed to perform at the Heroes bar. In the announcement of the concert, they called themselves “harbingers of the apocalypse” and promised to “open the gates of hell and release the demons.” This caused dissatisfaction among the participants of “Russian Community”. In their public VKontakte, they called on their supporters to turn to the police and to the governor of the Tambov region, Maksimum Egorov, with a demand that “blasphemers” be banned from speaking.
Religious activists considered it a particular cynicism that the concert was scheduled for September 21, when the Orthodox celebrate the birth of the Virgin. Also, in their appeal, they stated that “Satanist orgies” are unacceptable during wartime.
“And we also have a war going on. Where Satanists pay big money for killing Orthodox priests. And our guys are going to their death under the banner of the Savior Not Made by Hands – because only Christ will defeat Satan,” – write the participants of “Russian Community”.
Lucifer’s Dungeon, Frostlagte Måne and Mor play in the styles of Black Metal and Death Metal, they often use satanic paraphernalia, but they claim that the essence of their work does not contradict the spirit of the Gospel.
- After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, the performances of artists and musicians who spoke out against the war were repeatedly canceled in Russia. Also, some pro-military activists believe that in wartime, entertainment events should not be held, except for “patriotic” ones and calling for support for the authorities and the army.
