On Tuesday, September 24, the Ukrainian Museum in New York opened an exhibition of the Ukrainian avant-garde artist Aleksadry Exter. The President attended the official screening of the exposition Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the first lady Olena Zelenska.

This is the artist’s first solo exhibition in North America. Viewers from all over the world are offered to get acquainted with the iconic works of Oleksanda Ekster from 1913 to 1934. Among them are 30 paintings and works on paper with early abstractions, sketches for the theater. A separate art catalog was also created for the exhibition.
All exhibits at the exhibition were collected in cooperation with American and Ukrainian museums and private collectors.
In addition, together with the exhibition “Olexandra Ekster: the stage is the world”, the exposition of her contemporaries and other Ukrainian artists “Volya: Ukrainian Modernism” was opened. Works were presented there Oleksandr Arkhipenko, David Burlyuk, Oleksandr Bogomazov, Maria Sinyakova, Vasyl Yermylov and others.
The exhibition is dedicated to the avant-garde artist Oleksandra Ekster and her outstanding works for cinema and theatre.

Both exhibitions can be visited from September 27 on January 19, 2025.
