In which universities have the most students received grants: data from the Ministry of Education and Culture

The most students received this year grants for studies, will get an education at the universities of Lviv.
He became the first in the number of students with grants Lviv Ivan Franko National University – 1,262 applicants who entered the contract form of education at this university received financial support from the state.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vynnytskyi said this told in an interview with “The Mirror of the Week”.
IN Lviv Polytechnic National University in 2024, there were 1,154 such entrants.
Next, the list of higher education institutions by the number of students with grants includes:
- Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko – 990 entrants;
- Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute – 588;
- National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” – 531.
According to Vynnytskyi, the indicator of a large number of talented students in educational institutions is not their total number, but the percentage among contract employees.
“The percentage of such entrants as a part of all contract applicants is an indicator of where talented entrants enter, where the money that follows the student is brought to them.”
This indicator is especially important for institutions that offer a wide range of specialties, such as classical or polytechnic universities.”the official explained.
According to the data of the Unified State Database on Education (UEDEBO), almost the entire number (95%) of this year’s first-year students of the Ukrainian Catholic University received a grant. Many entrants of this category are also at the Kyiv School of Economics – 73%.
More than half of the students study under a contract in:
- National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (63%);
- Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television named after Karpenko-Kary (57%);
- Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University (56%);
- Oleksandr Bogomolets National Medical University (55%);
- Lviv National Academy of Arts (55%);
- Mykola Lysenko Lviv Academy of Music (51%);
- National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (51%).
