Last winter in Kyiv was among the eight warmest since 1881



The winter months in the capital were warmer than normal, so the winter of 2022-2023 was included in the eight warmest winters in Kyiv since 1881. This was reported by the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory. The average air temperature during the winter in Kyiv was -0.4°C, which is 2.1°C higher than the climatic norm. Most warm days were in January. During the month, 16 air temperature records were set and its new absolute maximum of +13.2°C was established. The coldest day of winter was December 6, when the temperature dropped to -10.9 ºC, and the warmest was January 1 and 2. Then the air temperature rose to +13.2 ºС. During the calendar winter, 107 mm of precipitation fell, which was 87% of the climatic norm. We will remind you that in January 2023, several temperature records were set in Kherson.
