A new international family of volunteers was formed in Zaporizhzhya – military officer James Caprini from England married Natalia Isakova, a Ukrainian. The man came to Ukraine to join the ranks of the international battalion, the Ministry of Justice reports. But later he started volunteering and met his love. As a result, we started volunteering together,” the woman says. My ex-husband left for Poland 3 years ago, so everything was headed for divorce. Jimmy finally stole me from the family,” the woman laughs and adds. Photo: James Caprini The romantic relationship, Natalia says, developed very quickly, after some time the man confessed his feelings and offered her to become his wife. “I didn’t immediately take it seriously, but we spent a year side by side, we were constantly together, so in the end we decided to get married. Jimmy will stay in Ukraine until the end of the war and after it,” says Natalia. The Ministry of Justice notes that 1,366 marriages with foreigners were concluded in 4 months of 2023. The largest number of foreigners got married in Kyiv – 355 couples, in Odesa – 285 couples, as well as 78 couples each in Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
