Ihor Zakharov, a military man and TV cameraman who worked on the “Ukraine” and “1+1” TV channels, died at the front.

Ihor Zakharov served in the National Guard and was mobilized at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
According to Natalia, Igor disappeared exactly one year ago, and his fate remained unknown for a long time. The remains were found the other day, and the examination confirmed that it was Igor.
Natalya remembers him as a person who always had a smile on his face, even in difficult moments.
“He had a super ability to turn tense situations into a roar and defuse any conflict. He is a person with a smile. I have never seen him depressed in five years of working with him. He had problems, like all people , but he had a very philosophical attitude to life. There were no hopeless situations with him.” Natalya shared.
She remembers that Igor Zakharov loved to sleep, often signed up for the second shift for the evening news program “Events of the Day”.
Malyarchuk specified that they said goodbye to Igor Zakharov on September 19. According to the Institute of Mass Information, Ihor Zakharov became the 88th media person who died as a result of Russia’s full-scale aggression.
He is survived by his wife and daughter.
Journalist Iryna Papirnyk rememberedhow she worked together with Igor during the filming of TV stories.
“Igor and I went to a forgotten village near PrzemyĆl to film a simply wild story about the death of a little girl. Igor recently joined us and just couldn’t get used to the subjects we filmed. A man with a height of under 2 meters with a wide smile and big eyes still could not calm down with the injustice that the child suffered. Observant, extremely kind, talented and sensitive“, she wrote.
TV presenter Maryna Khatsayuk recalled how she had collaborated with Igor for many years.
“Zakharov, you were light and laughter. With you, the most difficult shooting was a blast. You made me laugh when I was tired. I fixed my hair, which was blown by the wind, so that I looked good in the frame. Shared the last sandwich on a business trip. And always smiled… We traveled the whole country with you together, and then you went to protect it… and came back on a shield“, the woman wrote.
Another colleague, journalist Iryna Kaminska shared memories of Igor.
“It is very painful to lose people like Ihor. He was a great operator, very kind and positive. How many joint business trips, filming, funny stories…” she wrote.
