Mined fields: how to bring them back to life and will we have enough bread?

Spring is traditionally associated with the beginning of field work. However, this year the sowing will not take place in the entire unoccupied part of the territory of Ukraine. All because of mining fields.

Mine contamination has become one of the biggest challenges for Ukrainian farmers, and it may take tens of years and millions of dollars to fully demining Ukrainian land. This will certainly affect the Ukrainian agricultural sector and the economy of Ukraine as a whole.

Who does demining of war-torn areas and how much does it cost? How does agribusiness deal with demining and what other problems do Ukrainian farmers face in 2023?

We spoke with Bohdan Miroshnychenko, a journalist of Economic Truth, and Alex Lissitsa, CEO of the IMC agricultural company, to answer these questions.
