The edition of textbooks on the Ukrainian language for the 7th grade, where the map of Ukraine is depicted without Crimea, will be withdrawn from schools, reprinted and re-delivered to educational institutions.
It was reported Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi and Ministry of Education and Science.
“Textbooks are withdrawn from schools, reprinted and re-delivered to schools. Crimea is an inseparable part of Ukraine.” – noted in the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The Minister of Education and Science also noted that the MES has questions about the quality of school textbooks, in particular about the work of the Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education. According to him, from September 2, 2024, the examination of textbooks will be provided by the Ukrainian Institute for the Development of Education (UIRO).
“In 2025-2026, the MES will complete the reorganization of the Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education. To remove the issue of the quality of textbooks once and for all“, Lisovyi added.
“Litera LTD” publishing house, which made a technical error in the textbook, undertook to correct the error at its own expense.
We remind you that in the Ukrainian language textbook for the 7th grade discovered a map of Ukraine without the Crimean Peninsula. The textbook was published in 2024 by the Litera publishing house and is recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
This is not the first Ukrainian textbook where the map of Ukraine is depicted without Crimea. Previously, such an error happened in textbooks on the history of Ukraine for 9th and 10th grades.
