Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on Tuesday, during her visit to Kyiv, revealed the contents of the new, 11th package of EU sanctions against Russia.

According to von der Leyen, the new package consists of three elements. Among other things, it is expected to expand the list of prohibited goods that enter Russia through third countries. In addition, the EU plans to create new instruments that will prevent the circumvention of sanctions by third countries.

“If we see that European goods go to third countries and then end up in Russia, the European Commission can propose to member countries to introduce sanctions against the export of these goods,” von der Leyen explained. In this regard, the head of the European Commission noted an increase in, as she said, “extremely unusual trade flows.” It follows from the comments of the head of the executive body of the EU that further export restrictions will affect, first of all, goods from the sphere of technology and related to the aviation industry.

The new measures are still under consideration and will be applied very carefully, after a thorough risk analysis and approval by all EU members, von der Leyen says in the words of “German wave”.

Another element of the new package was the prohibition of “shadow” structures from Russia and non-EU countries that deliberately circumvent Brussels sanctions, the der Leyen Foundation called.

Speaking in Kyiv, the head of the European Commission emphasized that the EU is doing everything possible to undermine the military machine of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and to obtain new income for him.

According to the sources of the DPA agency in the EU, Kazakhstan, Armenia and the United Arab Emirates are mentioned among the countries through which cases of evasion of anti-Russian sanctions are recorded.
