At the meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters, it was determined that by the beginning of the next heating season, there should be more than 14 billion cubic meters of gas in Ukrainian storages.

This is what Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said reported according to the results of the headquarters meeting.

Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine seeks to minimize gas imports by increasing its own production.

As previously reported, gas storage operator “Ukrtransgaz” in mid-April started the season of pumping gas into underground storages.

The meeting also discussed the situation in the power industry. In preparation for the heating season, it is planned to increase the possibilities of exporting and importing electricity from the EU.

As for generation, a plan to restore 1,710 MW of generating capacity before the start of the next heating season was agreed with the energy companies present.

Work on the protection of energy measures continues: at the meeting, measures were proposed to decentralize the energy network, in particular, to involve communities in the development of distributed generation.
