Residents of the village near the arsenal near Novgorod are leaving their homes
Local residents are leaving the village of Kotovo in the Okulovsky district of the Novgorod region, near which the 13th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Russia is located. This is reported by Sever.Realii with reference to the story of one of them.
The interlocutor of the journalists said that the residents of Kotovo began to gather actively a few days ago. Taxi prices from the village to the regional center of Okulovka, located 19 kilometers away, have risen to 1,000 rubles. There are not enough cars and the drivers can’t handle the orders. Those who cannot leave remain in Kotovo.
“A few days ago, not far from us, a car with an anti-aircraft defense unit arrived and stopped. This spurred people on, probably. So they began to leave themselves. They organized their own evacuation. There are those who simply leave for the night to their relatives in neighboring villages. They say that it is scary stay at home. Well, our authorities are silent, as always. We have no comments from the head of the district.” – said a resident of the village in a conversation with Sever.Realii.
- On the night of September 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the arsenal in Toropts, Tver Region. At least 13 people were injured. Due to the detonation of the ammunition and the fire, the authorities decided to partially evacuate the city.
