Russia is trying to “evoke emotions of fear and helplessness” against the background of floods in Europe – the Polish military
The Polish military accused Russia of organizing an “informational and psychological” operation against the background of the floods in Central and Eastern Europe.
“In connection with the flood in the south-west of Poland, an informational and psychological operation related to the Russian Federation is being conducted,” the 10th Army of the Cyberspace Protection of Poland announced on the network.
The military claims that the “apparatus of influence” uses “the technique of selective selection of information and aims to cause emotions of fear and helplessness in recipients”, as well as to undermine trust in state security structures.
The agency did not explain why such conclusions were reached. The Polish military called on netizens to check the sources of information and be careful with content designed to cause a violent emotional reaction.
In mid-September, heavy rains caused by storm Boris caused severe flooding in Central and Eastern Europe. Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary were affected. The Czech Republic and Poland suffered the greatest losses. According to local officials, infrastructure damage in these two countries alone could reach $10 billion.
