Salekhardets sentenced to 3 years for wanting to fight for Ukraine

The Belgorod Regional Court sentenced a native of Salekhard to three years in prison, who was accused of trying to leave for Ukraine and fight on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The press service of the FSB regional office reports that the young man fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse at the trial.

In a video of the interrogation published on social networks, he admits that he came to Belgorod to cross the border with Ukraine and join one of the Ukrainian foreign legions. He declares that he made such a decision in order to earn money, but then he says that he was going to donate most of the money to the restoration of Ukraine.

In February 2022, according to “Novaya Gazeta”, a young man went to a single picket with a poster “Instead of phantom Nazis in Ukraine, innocent people are dying” and was detained by the police, but was soon released.
