Sanctions continue: Biden does not soften the tough policy towards Russia
The current American leader, Joe Biden, extended the sanctions against the aggressor country. The extension of the restrictions is justified by the invasion of the Russian army into the territory of Ukraine, Vechernye Vesty reports with a link to the White House website.
Sanction restrictions concerning the Russian Federation introduced back in 2014 were extended. Joe Biden adopted this measure as a reaction to the invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation into Ukraine. These restrictions affected persons who threaten the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state.
Biden emphasized that persons who pose a territorial threat to Ukraine, encroach on the processes of democracy in the state, threaten the peace and stability of the lives of Ukrainians, and continue to be a threat to the foreign policy and security of the United States. Due to this, the sanctions against these persons were extended.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine also called for continued sanctions against the aggressor country.
