Shlosberg, the deputy chairman of Yablok, is being searched

In the morning of October 2, a search began in the apartment of the Pskov politician and deputy chairman of the “Yabloko” party Lev Shlosberg. Presumably, a criminal case has been opened for evasion of the duties of a foreign agent. This was reported by the Russian state channel RT.

The channel published a video of how several SOBR employees entered Shlosberg’s apartment, the politician signs documents, probably a search warrant. There is no sound in the video.

According to RT, the searches are related to a criminal case under the article on evasion of the duties of a foreign agent: the politician allegedly posted posts on social networks without marking.

A criminal case under the article on the non-fulfillment of the duties of an agent can be initiated after two fines have entered into force under a similar administrative article. In February 2024, the Yabloko party announced that Lev Shlosberg had received at least three administrative fines for the lack of marking, the total amount was 62 thousand rubles.

Lev Shlosberg was also repeatedly fined under the administrative article on discrediting the army.

  • In June 2023, the Ministry of Justice entered Lev Shlosberg into the register of so-called foreign agents. In the department, this was motivated by the fact that the politician spoke against the war in Ukraine, created and distributed agents’ materials and information about the decisions of the Russian authorities and their policies.
  • In July 2023, an administrative case was opened against Shlosberg under the article on the abuse of freedom of mass information. According to Shlosberg, the reason for drawing up the protocol was his broadcast on the YouTube channel “Grazhdanyn TV”. In it, the politician mentioned the “Freedom of Russia” organization, which is banned in Russia.
