Stand-up comedian Gavrilov was accused of discrediting the Russian army

In relation to the stand-up comedian Dmitry Gavrilov, an administrative protocol was drawn up on the so-called discrediting of the Russian army.

What is the cause of the initiation of the case – it is not specified. The meeting on it has not yet been scheduled. According to the administrative article on discrediting, a fine may be imposed, but in the case of being found guilty of discrediting, a criminal case may be instituted again.

At the moment, Gavrilov is serving a 13-day administrative arrest in Nizhny Novgorod, where he came from Georgia for his own performance. The comedian was found guilty of inciting hatred due to the YouTube recording of his concert in Tbilisi. Gavrilov allegedly “humiliated the dignity of Russians” and “portrayed the Russian military in a humiliating manner” from the stage.

After the arrest of Gavrilov, a video from the police department appeared on the Internet, in which the comedian apologizes.

“In my stand-up video, I allowed myself insulting statements aimed at the citizens of the Russian Federation or the discrediting of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. I fully admit my mistake, I repent of the words I said, I have changed my position, I hope I did not harm anyone,” he said on the footage stand-up artist
