Swedish singer Loreen won Eurovision with the song “Tattoo”

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest has ended. The first place was won by the Swedish singer Loreen with the song “Tattoo”. She was the leader after the jury’s vote, and then retained the lead after the audience’s vote. This is not the first time Loreen has become a Eurovision winner: she already won the contest in 2012.

Finnish rapper Käärijä took second place with a song “Cha Cha Cha”, he scored 526 points. Third place – Israeli singer Noah Kirel with the song “Unicorn”.

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest was held in Liverpool. Last year, the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra became the winner of the contest, and according to the rules of Eurovision, the next contest had to be held in the winning country. But because of the war, Ukraine would not be able to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, so they decided to hold the competition in Great Britain. Many participants of the competition expressed solidarity with Ukraine.

• Ukraine, as the previous winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, automatically entered the final along with the so-called “big five”, which includes Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Ukraine was represented this year by the group TVORCHI with the song Heart of Steel.
• Princess of Wales Kate – the wife of the heir to the British throne William – recorded a video in which she plays on the piano the melody of the song of the Ukrainian group that won last year at Eurovision.
• This time, Russia, as well as Belarus, were again suspended from participating in Eurovision due to aggression against Ukraine.
