The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed two more deputy ministers of education. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi. Andriy Stashkiv and Mykhailo Vynnytskyi became deputy heads of the Ministry of Education and Culture. “Andrii will be responsible for secondary education, and Mykhailo – for higher education. It is important for me that both Andrii and Mykhailo are not only excellent managers, but also strong practitioners,” the minister said. Minister of Forestry with new deputies According to Oksen Lisovoy, Andriy Stashkiv has more than 5 years of experience as deputy director of the regional department of education in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. “He coordinated the implementation of the NUS reform: it is the renewal of the educational space, the training of teachers, and the formation of a network of schools,” says Oksen Lisovyi. Mykhailo Vynnytskyi has been teaching at the Department of Sociology at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, as well as at the Mohyla and Lviv Business Schools (UKU) for more than 20 years. Vinnytskyi is a management and organizational development consultant. From 2014 to 2020, he was an adviser to three Ministers of Education and Science of Ukraine. In 2019-2022, he headed the secretariat of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education. “His many years of experience and modern vision of higher education are exactly what the Ukrainian education system needs today,” the Minister of Education noted. On the eve of his appointment, Mykhailo Vynnytskyi published his vision for the reform of higher education. In his opinion, it is important to take the following three steps in reforming: to help rethink the essence, mission, and role of higher education institutions in cities, where there are many of them; stimulate cooperation between NASU institutes and universities through the formation of joint postgraduate programs; to make it possible to enter a bachelor’s degree in a broad field, and not, as now, immediately in a specialty. Before the appointment of Stashkiv and Vynnytskyi, Lisovoy had 5 deputies: Andriy Vitrenko, Svitlana Danylenko, Denys Kurbatov, Dmytro Zavhorodniy, Yevhen Kudryavets. Maksym Yarmysty was appointed State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Read also: Minister of Education Lisovyi wants to update methods of teaching Ukrainian history and literature
