The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine expanded the directions for using microgrants provided under the “Own Business” program to start or develop a business, and extended the terms for recipients to conclude an agreement on providing funds and opening a bank account. The decision of the government provides
- expansion of the list of directed use of microgrant funds — recipients will be able to purchase for them the means of transport necessary for the implementation of entrepreneurial activity;
- an increase in the time period from 15 to 20 working days, during which the person recognized as the winner of the grant program must register the FOP, if he is not an entrepreneur, as well as conclude an agreement on the provision of a micro-grant and open a bank account for the transfer of funds;
- priority employment of the officially registered unemployed for jobs created in accordance with the terms of the micro-grant grant after signing the micro-grant agreement, the State Employment Center informs the entrepreneur about the presence of suitable candidates among the registered unemployed; And also the priority replacement of the dismissed employee by a person from among the unemployed;
- full return of the micro-grant to the state in case the recipient does not fulfill the mandatory condition of the micro-grant agreement on the creation of one or two jobs (depending on the amount of the micro-grant) and the employment of workers for them within 6 months;
- consequences upon termination of the microgrant contractor before the expiration of the 3-year project implementation period, if the grantee has paid taxes and fees less than the amount of the microgrant within 3 years, in the event of reorganization or liquidation of the economic entity that received the microgrant.
“The grant program “Own business” is most in demand among Ukrainians who want to open or develop their own business. Financial support from the state in the form of a micro-grant of up to 250 thousand. More than 4,000 entrepreneurs have already received hryvnias for the total sum of UAH 1 billion,” noted First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko.

Under the grant program “Own business” Ukrainians can receive a micro-grant from 50 to 250 thousand. UAH The funds can be spent on the purchase or leasing of equipment, the purchase of raw materials and materials, and the rent of premises.
Both an active entrepreneur and a person with no experience in such activities can receive a microgrant. Creation of 1-2 workplaces is a mandatory condition for the provision of funds. Ukrainians who received microgrants in 2022 will create about 8,000 new jobs.
This year, the budget provides UAH 1.8 billion for the “Own Business” program, which will allow about 10,000 micro-grants to be issued.
The government project “eRobota” was introduced by the government in July 2022 to support business and stimulate the creation of new jobs. It includes several grant programs. In particular, these are programs of micro-grants for opening or developing one’s own business, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, greenhouse farming.
