The court arrested the suspect in the SU-24 arson attack in Novosibirsk

The court in Novosibirsk arrested the suspect in the arson of the Su-24 bomber on the territory of the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after Chkalov until July 12. This was reported by the press service of the Leninsky district court of the city.

The court report states that Viktor Skorobogatov was arrested at the request of the investigation. He is charged under the article about arson aimed at destroying the enterprise “in order to undermine the economic security and defense capability of Russia.” The investigation assumes that the crime was committed by a group of persons based on a preliminary agreement.

• A Su-24 bomber was set on fire in Novosibirsk on May 8. Then the Telegram channel Baza reported about it. According to their data, the Su-24 was not seriously damaged, traces of burning were found on the chassis. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, arsonists broke into the territory of the plant and bit the netting in the fence. They were caught on one of the video surveillance cameras.
• Later, the “War with fakes” Telegram channel close to the Ministry of Defense wrote that the video was staged and filmed in Ukraine. A source in the plant’s administration said that there were no incidents on the territory. “This is a carefully guarded object and it is difficult to imagine that outsiders could freely move around it, not to mention setting fire to something there while filming,” the message said. Telegram channel “Novosibir” of the regional government made a repost of the publication “Wars with fakes”. An NGS source in the government reported that the report about the arson was misinformation.
