The court gave a resident of Biysk 15 years for the transfer of the “Freedom of Russia” legion
A military court sentenced Danyla Yakovlev, a resident of Biysk, Altai Territory, to 15 years in prison and a fine of one hundred thousand rubles for transferring the “Freedom of Russia” legion fighting on the side of Ukraine. Mediazone was informed about this in court.
Yakovlev was found guilty of treason and financing terrorism. According to the verdict, Yakovlev will spend the first two years in prison, the rest in a high-security colony. He pleaded guilty.
The FSB regional department reported the detention of a 19-year-old resident of Biysk in January 2024. It was claimed that the young man decided to provide financial assistance to a terrorist organization (which the Russian authorities consider to be the “Freedom of Russia” legion) and transferred cryptocurrency to it for the purchase of drones and military equipment to combat Russian aggression.
According to “Mediazona” from a source familiar with the investigation, Yakovlev donated five thousand rubles to the legion. Earlier, “Kommersant” also wrote about the donation of “several thousand”.
