The EC published a decision on the lifting of sanctions against Prigozhin’s mother
The European Union lifted sanctions against Violetta, the mother of PMC “Wagner” founder Evgeny Prigozhin. The corresponding document is published on the official website of the EU.
In this way, the decision of the EC Court, issued back in March 2023, has been implemented. Then the court ruled that Violetta Prigozhina does not own the company “Concord Management and Consulting”, and therefore, unlike her son, is not responsible for actions that violate the sovereignty of Ukraine, notes Sever.Realii.
Violetta Prigozhina has been under EU sanctions since February 2022. Her defense in court proved that since 2017, the businessman’s mother did not own the company, although she owned part of its shares.
Also published was the decision to lift sanctions against race car driver Nikita Mazepin, son of billionaire Dmitry Mazepin. He also managed to achieve this through the court. Several people were excluded from the lists due to their death.
- Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of “Concord” and the head of PMC “Wagner”, also known as “Putin’s cook”, died in the crash of a private plane in the Tver region – exactly two months after his failed “campaign on Moscow”. Ego Prigozhin began by accusing the Ministry of Defense of attacking mercenaries and systematically refusing to supply ammunition. Relatives of Yevgeny Prigozhin are included in the sanctions lists of Ukraine, the EU, Canada and the USA.
- PMC “Wagner” is a Russian unofficial armed formation created by Yevgeny Prigozhin. PMC mercenaries took an active part in the war with Ukraine, as well as in ground operations in Syria and Africa. The company’s fighters are accused of multiple war crimes.
