The European Commission transferred the next tranche to Ukraine in the amount of 1.5 billion euros as part of the package of emergency macro-financial assistance agreed in the EU last year. This was stated by the press secretary of the European Commission, Dana Spinant, at a briefing in Brussels, Ukrinform reports.

“Today we are providing another tranche of EUR 1.5 billion for Ukraine. This is the fourth payment within the framework of macro-financial assistance (MFD+) in the amount of 18 billion euros for this hour. This assistance will allow Ukraine to ensure macroeconomic stability and restore critical infrastructure destroyed by Russia during the war against Ukraine,” said the representative of the European Commission.

At the end of last year, all the key institutions of the European Union agreed on the allocation of MFD+ to Ukraine in the amount of 18 billion euros, at the rate of 1.5 billion euros per month, to support the key social functions of the Ukrainian state in times of war.

At the same time, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, announced the development of a package of multi-year long-term macro-financial assistance for Ukraine, which will be intended to support its macro-financial stability, financial support for recovery processes and preparation for membership in the European Union.
