The government ignored the position of business in raising taxes – the association
During the government’s discussion with business about tax increases, the proposals of entrepreneurs were not taken into account.
This was announced by the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, Gennady Chyzhikov.
“We had many meetings (with the government – EP), everything was discussed, but what was adopted was adopted. The proposals of large business associations were almost not taken into account,” he said.
Chyzhikov emphasized that business understands that the new tax package is important for Ukraine, because the budget is currently not in the best shape.
But at the same time, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed fears that those who have always paid taxes will pay more, and those who have not paid will not start doing so.
Oleksandr Kalenkov, the president of “Ukrmetalurgprom” OP, in turn, noted that any increase in the cost price, which follows an increase in taxes, raises the question of whether the company will continue to operate.
“It is very important to consider that when you raise taxes, more businesses will close and less taxes will be paid. The effect will be the opposite,” he said.
