The Krasnoyarsk artist Slonov was sentenced to death

The court in Krasnoyarsk found the artist Vasiliy Slonov guilty of repeatedly displaying extremist symbols and sentenced him to one year of correctional labor. This was reported by TVK.

Also, 15% of Slonov’s salary will be withheld for the benefit of the state. The court replaced the artist’s house arrest with a signature not to leave until the sentence enters into force. Earlier, the prosecutor requested two years of compulsory labor for Slonov.

The artist will appeal the sentence, especially if he is outraged by the court’s decision, he will destroy the scumbags on the basis of which the accusation was built.

“I am shocked twice by the decision to destroy the cultural values of our family. The two bastards who are now in captivity must be freed, must be rescued in some way. In addition to the fact that they have been imprisoned since February 7, they are sentenced to destruction. I believe that their place is in the Hermitage or the Russian Museum,” Slonov told journalists.

The reason for initiating the criminal case was two of Slonov’s works – a gnome with eight-pointed stars, the image of which the investigation associated with the “Arrest Criminal Unity” (AUE) movement, banned in Russia as extremist.

During the trial, Slonov pleaded not guilty and said that in his case the artist is being judged for his work. He noted in the last word that if the prosecutor and the judge do not see the difference between a work of art and a tattoo, “this is a problem of their cultural level” and in that case it is necessary to invite cultural experts and art historians.

  • Slonov was detained on February 9. On the same day, his wife, Elena, published a decree on the initiation of a criminal case on social networks. Later it turned out that the basis of the criminal case was a dummy doll with eight-pointed stars, similar to prison tattoos, for which Slonova had previously been fined. The artist did not delete her photo from VKontakte after the court decision. In 2021, Slonov created a matryoshka-cage from iron rods. The artist noted that the matryoshka doll has always been a “global symbol of Russia.”
